Wednesday 8/31/2022 - A Day of RestSonam Tshering took today off from work, and we all used the day to catch up on some much-needed rest. Uluru had been amazing, but we had risen very early every morning and gone to bed on the late side as well. We had had very little down time, and that was on top of flying overnight to get there.Today we woke up around 9 o'clock and took showers. The Sonams prepared a lovely breakfast of French toast, mueslix, tomato and spinach, and coffee. It was delicious. The Sonams insisted on doing our laundry while I typed up notes from the past 2 days. We had a very Bhutanese lunch of ema datshi (chilies and cheese), mushroom datshi (mushrooms and cheese), rice, and noodles. It was delicious and very spicy! We talked all afternoon, just enjoying one another's company. It was nice to unwind after the whirlwind that was the Uluru trip. We had chips, pokara, and some salad with sausage for dinner. Craig had a Corona and Sonam Tshering and I had Strongbow cider, while Sonam Choki had some Bailey's. We chatted and laughed some more, and then went to bed around 10:15 because Sonam Tshering has to return to work in the morning. He hadn't even checked in with work for the past few days, so he had no idea what might await him. |
