We saw the always amazing Eliza Neals and her band at the Bull Run, at a show which was filmed with 5 cameras for Don Odell's Legends. It was our first time seeing Rick Nossa with the band, and he provided some amazing slide guitar work. They played originals as well as covers, new songs as well as old favorites. Eliza dedicated "Queen of the Nile" to us, as we have recently returned from Egypt. It was very sweet of her. Another highlight of the night was drummer John Medeiros Jr's two young daughters joining the band onstage, dancing and singing along to "Something's Better Than Nothing."
I ran into Eliza in the ladies room before the show, and HJ stopped at our table to say hi. Then we got to chat with them further after the show, as well as checking in with Frankie, who is just back from recording some solo music.
We missed seeing Mickey Maguire on bass, but having someone as well-known and respected as Lenny Bradford sit in was a treat. The last time we saw him perform with her was back in 2019. And it's always nice having someone on the B3; this time it was Rusty Scott.
