We saw the always amazing Lez Zeppelin for the 4th time at The Cut in Gloucester. This time they performed "The Song Remains the Same" (expanded edition, with more songs than the original album) in its entirety.
The energy of the band and the crowd was off the charts. The band was just really on fire tonight. They had every nuance down pat. The packed crowd was loving every minute of the almost two and a half hour show. Dana Athens' vocals sounded better than ever. Steph Paynes' guitar work rocked the house. Joan Chew did double duty, effortlessly switching between bass and keyboards, keeping things funky. And Hillary Blaze would have made John Bonham proud on drums, especially on her incredible Moby Dick solo. In the past we didn't have a very good view of her because the drum kit was in the way, but tonight we had a great view of her. After the show, we got a chance to chat with Hillary and she was quite sweet. It was a very special night, and we hope they return to The Cut for a 5th show!
