Saturday, March 5, 2022 - A Saturday with the Family

Today was yet another rainy day. I guess yesterday's sunshine was fleeting. Shina and Yupanqui had catechism first thing in the morning, and we all had breakfast together when they returned to the house. We had crepes with blackberry jam, bread, bologna, and coffee.

Dashel carried her cardboard box into the kitchen and sat in it. Antonio and Sisa pushed the box around the kitchen floor.

When the rain let up a little, I took Dashel for a ride in her pushcar up to the bus stop.

Antonio left to play w/ Chasqui Ñan, his traditional Andean band.

Dashel, always willing to help with chores, fed some rice to the duck.

Antonio's bandmates from his other band (Fender's Band) came over to gather the amps and equipment for their gig tonight.

We ate lunch: soup, steak, fries, rice, and radishes. After lunch, we sat with Sisa in the kitchen as a thunderstorm rolled through. I got my laptop and we watched some videos from past visits, including the time we took Sisa to the Galapagos in 2019. She also enjoyed watching videos from when she was Adeliz Dashel's age. We had a lot of fun reminiscing about past visits.

Antonio came home from his Chasqui Ñan gig, and then went to a meeting at Sisa's school. After that, he would be playing with Fender's Band. Weekends are busy around here.

For dinner, we convinced them to forego the soup course. Neither of us were very hungry due to the altitude, and the lunches here are way bigger than what we eat for lunch at home. So by the time dinnertime rolls around, we often have little to no appetite. Dinner was a fried egg, cauliflower, lentils, and rice.

After dinner, the kids made Tik Tok videos where they took photos of all of us and morphed us into the opposite genders, old people, etc. They were laughing so hard, and it was fun to see them just being kids.
