Thursday, 4/28/2016 - Working RemotelyAfter a solid sleep, I woke up at 6:30 a.m. I went over to the kitchen to start work at 7 o'clock. Yupanqui and Sisa ate their soup and then went to school. For breakfast, we had a potato and egg omelet, bologna, coffee, juice, and bread. Today we only had about 5 minutes of sun over the course of the day. It has been rather raw and chilly, with periods of intense rain. I worked online during the day. Antonio continued his work around the house, which included scaling an avocado tree to get up to the 3rd story roof! The weather being what it was, it wasn't the kind of day you want to be on a rooftop! We had soup, hamburg, peas, rice, and cole slaw for lunch. After the kids got home from school, we played with them and showed them some photos from our recent China trips. They especially enjoyed the panda photos. The kids' great-grandmother Abuelita kept a fire going in her outdoor kitchen, and Max the loyal dog stayed by her side. They sat by the fire to keep warm in the raw weather. Once Max felt warm, he went to hunker down in the makeshift chicken coop. The kids played outside with building blocks, sitting under the protection of the roof overhang to stay dry. Antonio and kids used an app on the phone to practice English phrases. We called Peluchin the puppy "buddy" and then Yupanqui kept repeating it. "Bud-dy Bud-dy Bud-dy..." It was so cute. For dinner, we had soup, steak, rice, avocado, and potatoes in a green sauce. Shina Tayanta was playing with me at dinner, sitting on my lap and playing peekaboo, while we tickled one another. Then soon after dinner we went to bed. |
