Friday, November 29, 2019 - Post-Thanksgiving Day OffToday was another day off from work, though the kids had school. For breakfast, we had scrambled eggs, coffee, pineapple juice, and ham and cheese sandwiches. We worked on the web site some more while the kids were in school. Being Black Friday, I also did some browsing of internet sales. The real sale that we were looking at wouldn't begin until Monday. Abercrombie & Kent would be having a sale on certain off-season private trips, and we had our eye on their Turkey itinerary. We made a few jokes about buying tickets to Turkey during Thanksgiving...it just seemed meant to be! [We would end up taking advantage of the Turkey deal after all, visiting Istanbul and Izmir in February of 2020.] The kids came home from school. For lunch we had soup and fried rice. Aida sprayed a strong bug repellant around the doors and windows of the main house. It smelled awful, so we went with the girls to gather eucalyptus leaves along the roadside to use as an air freshener. Sisa and Shina were in the laundry room unloading the washing machine. I kept hearing lots of giggling so I went in to see what was going on. Shina was laying in the laundry basket, and Sisa was covering her with wet clothes. They were both laughing hysterically. Rosa, Aida, and the three kids all worked together to cook supper. My stomach had not been feeling well, so I wasn't especially hungry. I skipped the soup, but did have the main course: pasta in cheese sauce with mushrooms. Now that the Chinese pepper sauce was gone, Rosa made some homemade aji with the few peppers her pepper bush had produced. |
