Friday, October 14, 2022 - Working Remotely, Party PreparationsAida prepared breakfast for us. She always took such good care of us, preparing all of our meals with love. Unfortunately, I had to eat breakfast alone upstairs while working: quiche, bread, coffee, cocoa, and juice. When this happens, the family delivers breakfast to me and then comes to clear my plates so that my meetings aren't interrupted.Dashel had a bath and was looking all clean and fresh in her Halloween cat clothes that we had brought for her. With a pause in meetings, I was able to eat lunch with the family downstairs: soup, chicken fried steak, melloco, rice, tomatoes, and lettuce. After I was done with work, Craig and I took showers and then watched the "Rings of Power" finale on Amazon (which had been released today). The internet was stable enough to support the streaming without a single hiccup. People came over to help peel potatoes for tomorrow's Confirmation party, and they were all fed. Aida and Sisa helped to prepare the corn to make mote (hominy). A tent arrived and was erected in the front yard. Antonio and Sisa went to order the Confirmation cake. They showed us online photos of what it would look like, and it was very fancy! Craig and I had coffee/cocoa in the kitchen. Yupanki drew in his notebook. One of the people who came over to help with party preparations had a baby about Kuri's age, and the two babies took a nap together on the bed. French tourists Julian and Melissa had decided to stay one more night, so they were here as well. Craig's stomach wasn't feeling well, so he just had soup for dinner. They made him some special herbal tea made with the leaves of a local plant. Dinner was soup, fries, and broccoli. Aida left to go borrow a cooking pot from her cousin, while I babysat Kuri. At around 9:15, the kids decided that they wanted to go to bed, so they took over Kuri duty and we went back to our casita. |
