Monday, July 31, 2023 - A Sick Day for Yupanki

I didn't sleep well at all overnight, for some reason. I heard the band come back at 5 a.m., and the truck carrying their equipment hit the edge of the main house and knocked down some roof tiles.

Breakfast was bread, turkey ham, yogurt, and potato/egg pancake. A little chick came into the house and sat in the dirty frying pan which had egg remnants in it. Skip the middle man and just fry himself right up!

After being out all night playing with the band, Yupanki was not feeling well today. He had gotten sick at the gig last night. So in addition to just being exhausted from being awake all night, he was actually sick. He slept all day.

After breakfast, Aida dispatched a chicken, plucked him, and cleaned him. We sat with the girls at the dining table while they drew in their notebooks.

For lunch we had the chicken in soup, as well as steak, habas, potatoes, melloco, tomato and onion, and juice. Nena was dancing at the table with her arms out in front of her, and Sisa said that she danced like a zombie. We know Sisa likes Michael Jackson, so we asked if she knew the "Thriller" video, speaking of zombies. Sisa didn't, but Aida did. She agreed that we should show it to the kids. So we watched the video on my phone. Aida goosed them and made them jump during one of the scary parts at the beginning. It was so funny.

Later Sisa asked Antonio if he knew Michael Jackson, and he started to moonwalk. Sisa kept going "Ow!" We all had a good laugh.

The girls asked if we want to do the 101 Dalmatians puzzle again. If they wanted to, it was fine with us. So we built the puzzle with Sisa and Shina while Aida deep cleaned the kitchen. It took less time to finish the puzzle the second time around, as we were all more familiar with it.

Craig and I had coffee while I played with Kuri. Yupanki woke up and went with Antonio to Quiroga to buy some medicine. He had a sore throat.

He then joined us for dinner which was carrot soup with popcorn, pasta with pesto and meat sauce, and tree tomato juice. He perked up a little biit as dinner went on.

Kuri is getting a third tooth, this one on his top right.

We came back to the casita at around 10 o'clock.
