Tuesday, June 24, 2025 - Working RemotelyToday I had to get up even earlier than usual, as I had a meeting at 6:30 a.m. local time. Paulina got me coffee right away, which was a godsend. She is always up early making coffee and breakfast for the guests staying in the hotel rooms. For breakfast, we had scrambled eggs, toast, peanut butter, orange juice, and a hot oat drink. A local woman came over to help with the laundry for the guest rooms. She joined us for breakfast. While we ate, a very tiny, bright green grasshopper alighted on my computer cord. It was so cute! Ian played with his Legos, building the T-rex skeleton. Craig helped Ian to find pieces that he needed. Paola cleaned her turtle’s water and fed him. He is a small red eared slider whom Paola has had for about five years. Lunch consisted of chicken breast, salad, French fries, and lemonade. Ian finished the T-rex. When I went to take a photo of it, he posed it making a peace sign with its claws, as he said "Selfie!" We had a slice of birthday cake and some coffee as a snack. Craig noticed a few finishing touches missing on the T-rex, so he helped to finish it up. Ian worked on the Legos patiently all day until Aracely and Joel and Elsa came over at 7 o'clock. We saw a gecko on wall. After the grasshopper this morning, it was a day of critters. We played with Elsa – she is such a good-natured baby! We played Uno with Aracely and Joel. Dinner consisted of hot dogs, scrambled eggs, beans, and a delicious local cream cheese. Aracely, Joel, and Elsa left at 10 pm. Elsa touched our faces as we said goodbye to her. She touched Craig's moustache and kind of recoiled each time because it tickled, but kept doing it anyway. She's just like her mom; gets tickled by the moustache when given a kiss. |
