Monday, 5/2/2016 - Working RemotelyIt was once again Monday, so I was back to work early in the morning, and the kids were off to school.For breakfast today, we had scrambled eggs with onions, tomatoes, and peppers, bread with marmalade, coffee, bologna, and juice. Although my laptop's wireless does not work from the casita, Craig's laptop's usually does. But for some reason this morning he couldn't get a connection from the room. He came into the kitchen to join me and use the internet there. It was a nice sunny day, so Antonio climbed up the back tree and rigged up a ladder to try to fix the roof leaks. After last night's deluge, it was clear that it needed to be fixed. For lunch, we had soup, rice, broccoli, cauliflower, and peas. After having success fixing the main roof, Antonio got up onto the roof of the casita to try to fix our leaks as well. Rosa had been beading some blouses, and some of the miniscule beads had gotten mixed up. So we spent a couple of hours sorting beads by color. Depending on the amount of sunlight at any given time, it could be easier or harder to discern the colors of the tiny beads. The whole process was a lot easier once the kids decided they were tired of "helping". When Aida got home from work, she had a small cake which she shared with all of us. Sisa helped to prepare dinner. She cut beets, and all three kids helped to make the juice. For dinner, we had soup with popcorn, egg salad with beets and homemade mayonnaise, plantains, melloco, and rice. Little Mi Nena even helped to do the dishes, standing on top of a plastic bucket so that she could reach the sink. We had another visitor in the casita tonight, but it wasn't as bad as last night's spider. It was just a slug that I was able to usher outdoors. |
