Friday, February 1, 2019 - Our Last DayToday was our last full day before heading back home. For breakfast, we had omelettes, plantain patacones, coffee, and juice. As I worked from home today, El Señor Chipikins joined me in my office. For lunch, we had soup, chicken, rice, beans, and juice. The kids played with the map puzzle again. They really seem to enjoy it. When I was done with work, we cleaned up the casita and packed our things (both the things that we will bring home, and the things that we will keep in storage here). The kids are always a bit subdued right before we leave, begging us to stay. We always need to remind them that we have to return home, but that we will be back as soon as we can. They are always in our hearts and we can stay in touch via social media. Shina made a clay statue of me with her and Sisa. It was adorable, made of balls of clay, snowman-style. Dinner consisted of soup, steak, salad, melloco, rice, and juice. We called it a night early, as we would have to wake up pre-dawn to go to the airport. It is always so difficult to say goodbye to the kids. We love them so much and miss them when we are away. We probably wouldn't see them in the morning, since we would be leaving so early. So we hugged them tightly and said our goodbyes before retiring to our casita. |
