Tuesday, October 11, 2022 - Working RemotelyToday was the start of our three-day quarterly Program Increment Planning (PIP) at work, which meant that I would be in meetings practically all day. In the morning I had some internet slowness and difficulty with page timeouts, which did not bode well. But it eventually cleared up.Breakfast consisted of cocoa, coffee, juice, crepe filled with jam, bologna, and bread. The sink in our casita bathroom leaks where the drain pipe goes into the wall, and Craig attempted to fix it with Mighty Putty. It ultimately didn't work. I ate lunch upstairs while working: soup, a fried egg, a plantain, 2 hot dogs, beans, rice, and juice. When I was done with work for the day, I sat outside with Craig while Sisa and Yupanki practiced their instruments. I decided to take a shower while the sun was out (sometimes the water is cold, and it always helps to warm up in the late afternoon sunshine), but our showerhead was broken and sprayed water all over the bathroom. Antonio went to Otavalo to buy a new one and installed it. Once that was complete, Craig and I each took nice hot showers. We watched a trailer for a Peruvian Atahualpa movie, and watched some videos on the history of Ecuador while the kids did their homework. Aida's cousin Celestina came over from next door to help prepare dinner. We had meatballs, mashed potatoes, tomatoes, plantains, and rice. Then we went to the casita and went to bed. |
