Wednesday, 7/10/2019 - A Quiet Day

I woke up early for work again today. Paulina brought me coffee and a piece of banana bread to start the day. Later in the morning, we had breakfast of cereal and banana. There was a tan grasshopper who visited us during breakfast. It had extremely long antennae, and hung around on the outdoor table and chairs.

The kids wanted to watch "Coco" again at lunch, so we ate our chili inside at the dining room table, enjoying this heartwarming film once again.

Ian Ivan came running through like a crazy person, and we noticed that his bare feet were black. He had been playing in charcoal, and had left a pile of it on the floor in Eddy and Aracely's room. Paulina got him straight into the shower while Aracely cleaned up the mess in the bedroom.

We then found Eddy sitting at the outdoor table, eating a literal handful of coffee creamer powder. I have been known to eat strange things when hungry enough, but powdered coffee creamer? Ugh!

We played cards for hours with a rotating cast of players including Aracely, Eddy, Humberto, Paulina, Cristian, Paola, and Yasmin. As we played, we had stewed peaches for a snack. Although it had seemed like there were enough peaches to last a month when Humberto had bought the wheelbarrow full, they lasted three days. The family was constantly snacking on them.

In the evening, Eddy went to boxing practice while Humberto met a group of old friends for a soccer match. Ian Ivan watched Peppa Pig on TV and played in his cardboard box casita.

For dinner we had soup and garlic bread, with tea to drink.
