Monday, 7/11/2022 - Working Remotely, A Walk to the Lake, Ice Cream at SaritaToday was Ivan's first day back at school post-vacation. We woke up early and planned to go with Paulina to bring him to school. Then Paulina realized that he is remote Mon/Wed/Fri, so he would be doing school online today.We had cereal for breakfast. Late in the morning it started to absolutely pour. The rain catchment from the roof filled at least 5 five-gallon buckets. Of course I started singing Bob Dylan's "Buckets of Rain." Lunch was chicken in salsa with salad and iced tea. Paulina cleaned our room and I helped her make the bed with the giant king-sized sheets. After work, we went to the lake with Ivan and Aracely. Ivan had boundless energy, and was rolling around on the dock and climbing up the rocky embankments. On our way up Santander Street, we stopped in the office to see Yasmin, who was working. We asked if she wanted ice cream delivered, and she agreed to a banana split. We continued on our way to Sarita, where we got cappuccino chocolate dippped waffle cones with dulce de leche. Aracely got a cone as well. Ivan was mad and didn't want any ice cream. He wouldn't explain why he was mad, and just sat there quietly pouting. On our walk back to the house, we delivered Yasmin's banana split. She had called Yoselin to the office to share the ice cream with her. Humberto arrived home from work shortly after we arrived. Ivan told him that he had been mad becuase we hadn't given him a chance to exercise on the public equipment down by the lake. He had never indicated to us that he wanted to do that, so we had no idea. We chatted with Humberto and Paulilna over leftover wedding cake. Craig had a cup of coffee and I had some wine. Humberto ordered 3 pizzas from Ulsan. A delivery man on a moto brought them and they were delicious. We went to bed at 9:30, and I started to experience a little cough. |
