Wednesday July 3, 2024 - Hanging Out with the FamilyI started work at 7 o'clock a.m. outside at the table. We ate breakfast outside with the family: scrambled eggs, refried beans, cheese, plantains, and coffee. Now that the kids are older, they are all either working or at school, so it was quiet at the house. The stray cats were on the roof peeking down at us, but never got really close. The family had electric tennis-racket shaped bug zappers that were always nearby for killing mosquitoes. With the dengue scare, we tried to kill any mosquito we come across. Luckily they were pretty lethargic and aren't as persistent as they are at home. For lunch, we had a fish filet and salad. After lunch, I played Uno with Craig. Then we decided to break out the jigsaw puzzle that we had gotten from Shutterfly. The picture was a family photo from Vanesa's wedding. We lamented the fact that there was no such complete family photo from Aracely's wedding, as Paola arrived late and Eddy wasn't able to attend due to his dengue fever. But at least he was better now! Paulina came to sit with us and helped us to construct the puzzle. Once it was completed, we played Uno with Paulina until some clients checked in for the guest rooms, at which point she was called into action. For dinner we had takeout beef churrasco served with green onions, guacamole, and tortillas. After dinner, we played Uno with Eddy, Paola, Yoselin, and Paulina before heading to bed. |
