Saturday, June 28, 2025 - Saturday with the FamilyWe didn't have to wake up early this morning. Once we got up, Paulina served us cookies and coffee. For breakfast, we had scrambled eggs with veggies, plantains, refried beans, and cream.Yasmin cleaned the habitat of Paola's red-eared slider turtle. They've had the little guy for about 5 years or more. Tonight would be a small reunion for my high school graduating class at home, so I texted Tyson and Cara and wished them a good time. Cara and I texted back and forth quite a bit, talking about the reunion as well as my time in Guatemala. I hadn't really talked with her in a while, so it was good to get back in touch. At around 11 o'clock I walked back to the ATM at Nakbe Hotel to get some more money. We would be treating the family to dinner at Paulina's sister Isabela's restaurant on Monday, for Humberto's 54th birthday, and we wanted to make sure that we had enough cash. The ATM has a small daily limit, so I needed to make a couple of trips. Lunch was chicken with salsa and rice. It rained in the afternoon. Humberto came home from a hike of the "Mayan Face", ate lunch, and went to bed. Aracely and baby Elsa came over and we played Uno. We had nachos with cheese and some tostadas before going to bed. |
